Step 1: Check power and the LED
Confirm the adapter is plugged in and the hub's indicator is lit. No light usually means a power issue — try another socket or the original adapter. Remember: local scenes may still work even when the app says offline.
Step 2: Check the internet connection
Make sure other devices on the same network are online. If the hub uses Ethernet, reseat the cable at both ends; if Wi-Fi, check signal strength where the hub sits.
Step 3: Check router settings
Most hubs need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. If your router merges 2.4 and 5 GHz under one name, create a separate 2.4 GHz network. A changed Wi-Fi password, a new router from your ISP, or MAC filtering will also disconnect the hub.
Step 4: Restart in the right order
Power off the hub, restart the router and wait until it's fully online (2–3 minutes), then power the hub back on. This clears most temporary drop-outs.
Step 5: Firmware and app
Update the LifeSmart app and check for hub firmware updates in device settings. Log out and back in if the hub still shows offline while working locally.
Step 6: When to reset or call us
A factory reset removes devices and scenes, so use it only as a last resort. If the hub still won't connect, contact Earth's Material support on WhatsApp — we can diagnose remotely in most cases.
Frequently asked questions
Will my switches still work if the hub is offline?+
Yes — physical switches always work, and local scenes usually keep running. Only remote app control and cloud features stop.
My ISP changed my router. What now?+
Re-add the hub to the new Wi-Fi from the app (or reconnect Ethernet). Your devices and scenes stay on the hub.
